Course : On Site Massage / Stress Management
We are living in a world where stress in affecting us all. How do we deal with or protect ourselves?. This course offers the therapist the means to establish management procedures and guide lines that usually helps to prevent the pathological effects of over stress on ones daily life. It shows that stress can have negative or positive effects.
Requirements: Learners must hold a recognised Diploma in Anatomy or Physiology and Massage or a recognised equivalent
Synopsis of syllabus:
1 Anatomy and Physiology as per syllabus
2. Knowledge of the “fight or flight” syndrome and the effects of increased release of adrenaline and nor-adrenaline on the
human body
3. Causes of stress in relation to:
· Health,
· Finance
* Personal relationships
· Physical
· Home based
· Work related
* Environmental
4. The Physiological and Psychological effects of Stress and recognising the symptoms
5. Stress coping mechanisms
· Postural assessment
· On site massage
· Relaxation Techniques ie. Progressive relaxation
· Meditation, etc
· Exercises Diet Environmental issues
6. Pathology associated with Stress
7. Case Studies as per syllabus
Examination:
1 iTEC Practical and Theory examinations
2 Case studies as per syllabus
3 IISSM continuous assessment
